Two weekends ago I had the pleasure of hosting my twin sister’s bachelorette party in Omaha. As her maid-of-honor and best friend, I wanted to plan something fun that she and the girls would all enjoy. After contemplating a destination bachelorette party in Charleston or Last Vegas, we decided to keep it it in the midwest to make it easier on everyone’s busy schedules. All the girls that could make it went to high school together, so we know each other very well and live in the same area so we didn’t have to worry about people coming in from different parts of the country. We decided on Omaha (I live in Iowa but work in Omaha) because of its fun downtown complete with cobblestone roads and cute bars and restaurants. We got a hotel downtown where we all arrived on Saturday for drinks and a lingerie party. While Audrey opened her gifts (I got her this Plum Pretty Sugar robe), I thought it’d be fun to play a little game. I asked Dylan, the groom, some questions about their relationships ahead of time, and had Audrey guess his answers. It was so fun to hear his answers and if she was able to guess right.
After that we changed into workout gear and headed to a pole dancing class. I thought it sounded like a hilarious but fun activity for all of us. We weren’t sure exactly what to expect, but the teacher had a way of making it less serious so we weren’t worried about doing it correctly and ended up making fools of ourselves, but it was SO fun and actually really hard. We made it back to the hotel and got ready for the night in our LBDs and Audrey in her white dress and headed to a local brewery for dinner. It was nice to have a chance to just hangout and chat wedding stuff. Then we hit the bars! It was so much fun celebrating Audrey’s last fling before the ring with some of her best friends.
As a thank to all the girls for taking time out of their busy work and class schedules to travel to Omaha and celebrate Audrey, I put together a gift bag with a few of my favorite things. I’m obsessed with Turkish towels and wanted to include one in each bag in the girls’ favorite color. I worked with the sweet Caroline from Turkish T and we decided on the Beach Candy towel. You can use them on the beach as a coverup or towel, but I also love using mine as a throw in the summer or draped over a chair. Of course I had to include some witty sleeves for our drinks from Hattan Home. They are exploding with the cutest most fun home accessories, I have a hard time not buying everything. After a late night, I figured we could all use some pampering and the organic Double Chocolate Brownie Coffee scrub by Beauty and the Chic was the perfect treat. It smells like real brownie batter that I have to stop myself from taking a bite.
It was such a fun weekend laughing, drinking, and telling stories about the night. Now I need to prepare my MOH speech…
