Hi friends, happy Friday! Did you have a good week? Mine was a tad crazy as holiday season has officially begun…Weekends are starting to fill up which means less time to get things done. It’s all in good fun though. I’m running around decorating our home for Christmas and making ornaments in time so I can take photos and give you a nice holiday tour just a few short days after Thanksgiving. This whole decorating for Christmas in November thing is new to me and my brain is confused why it’s not still fall.
This weekend we’re heading to Des Moines to hang out with my sister and her husband. Jordon and the guys are going to the Iowa football game (just to be clear, I am NOT an Iowa fan) and I’m going to hang out with my sister and her adorable frenchies.
I haven’t done a Best Of The Web post in a while so I had the urge to bring it back. Sometimes a brain dump of my favorite things is fun, right? If you like these kinds of posts, let me know and I will be better about sticking with them :)
After our bathroom reno not even a year ago, I’m a little scared to take on another major project ourselves. We haven’t touched our dated kitchen since moving in besides painting the cupboards, and it’s in desperate need of a makeover. It still has the TINY 1950s stove that only holds one pan! I’m looking for simple ways we can slowly update the kitchen without a huge undertaking. Erin shared her tutorial for a faux painted marble island and it had me fooled. The result is INCREDIBLE for just $30. I’m wondering if I could paint our countertops with the same technique and just tile the backsplash. We aren’t staying in the house forever so I’m ok with a quick fix. Anyone tried painting their counters before?
Candles are a common thing around our home, so I get really excited when I find a great brand. These Sawyer Bean Candles smell amazing! They’re made by a friend in Iowa, but I’m telling you, they’re one of my favorites. The caramel pecan is so good!
Ready for inspiration overload? Cassie of Hi Sugarplum revealed her one room challenge makeover last week and to say it’s jaw-dropping is an understatement. Now she’s updated the source list so you can run and get the look yourself!
Have a great weekend!
