I thought I’d pop in for a quick best of the web post on this fine Saturday! The holiday season just doesn’t seem to slow down at work so the week just flies by.
This week had some great links so I’ll just give you a little brain dump of my favorites.
The Holiday Blogger Stylin’ Home Tours came to a close and let me tell you, all 36 tours are worth checking out! You will see all types of different styles and ideas. It’s impossible to pick a favorite, but DIY Playbook, Iron and Twine, Inspired by Charm, and Julie Blanner’s simple tour are among my top picks.
Rue Magazine just launched their holiday issue and it’s so good. If you want to talk style, the Rue ladies know what’s up. From the home tours to the gift guides, the style is impeccable. Though most of it is a little (ok, maybe a lot) out of my budget, it’s inspiring and fun to look. We often forget the whole idea behind magazines and blogs is inspiration. It’s easy to get caught up in the comparison game, but it’s important to remember everyone has their own story, and every home has it’s own interpretation of that story. Don’t get discouraged!
How’s your Christmas shopping coming? My family and I are trying something new this year and exchanging stocking stuffers instead of bigger gifts. Our immediate family is 7 and then with brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews, it can quickly become overwhelming and expensive to buy so many gifts. I thought it was going to be difficult to find small gifts for everyone, but it’s been quite easy and fun! I just have one more to check off the list and I’m done.
Last year I made my brother-in-law these conversation coasters and he loved them! I think they’d be fun for a holiday party.
Here are 4 more sites like Etsy that sell handmade goods.
I’ll be back next week with a tutorial for icicle ornaments!
