I am having a major large scale art moment. While I love a gallery wall (or four), I appreciate the simplicity of one large print. With so many talented photographers and beautiful prints out there, you are bound to find something you like. The only problem is I don’t have enough walls to cover with them! Large scale prints can be spendy, but if you choose something you love it will truly be worth it. Stick with affordable frames from IKEA and you’re good to go. I have yet to invest in art (I usually find my pieces at Goodwill) so I’m itching to pick a few prints and build a collection.
Some of my favorite photographers lately are Gray Malin, Max Wagner, and Jen Smith — who I just discovered in the latest Domino issue. Malin and Wagner are blowing up and you’ve probably seen their work on Pinterest. This video explaining how Gray Malin captures each aerial photograph is pretty amazing. I’m obsessed with the bright and colorful beachy photos because they make me so happy to look at. The famous Tulum photograph has the most gorgeous blues. It’s one of my absolute favorites. Greek is my all-time dream destination, so this Greek Isles print by Gray Malin is calling my name. Who wouldn’t want to look at that everyday? I also love this and its pop of yellow, this seascape print, this, and this one.
Another great place for prints is Pure Photo. Shot by multiple photographers, it has a wide range of subjects.
Now which one to choose…
