We’re already two weeks into the six week long One Room Challenge! If you missed last week’s post with my before photos and makeover plan check it out here. I had so much fun looking at the other participants and discovering new blogs last week. It’s one of my favorite things about participating in fun blog projects like these.
My sister loves the bright theme with pops of color we’re going for, but she warned it could start looking like a dorm room. This week I sourced product, so I was careful not to pick out anything that was too “kiddish” or screams college. My sister already has a nice grey textured futon, a wardrobe, and shelf, but there aren’t any cute pillows or decor to make it feel cozy and somewhere you actually want to go sit and read. I found some cute affordable pillows at Target and H&M and the throw blanket looks so comfortable I’m obsessed. For some additional storage, I chose two ottomans that have room to stow things away, but can also act as a coffee table. The print was spotted by my sister and I loved it, so I included it as a inspiration piece since it’s pretty spendy. Her husband is a talented graphic designer and loves drawing so we may ask him to create a few pieces for the gallery wall :) More on that next week!
I really like how it’s coming together so far. What do you think? Next, I need to order the pieces and start arranging. Once I have everything together it’s much easier to see what is missing and fill in the last minute gaps. Everything is going so smoothly right now something bad is bound to happen! Don’t forget to check out the other One Room Challenge makeovers.
